Travel via charter bus up to a small town in the foothills of the Castellón province to visit an award-winning olive press and learn about the history of this region.  Learn about the different types of olive trees, including some that are over 1000 years old. Sample locally-produced, top-quality cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil. Learn how to shop smart and recognize a top-quality olive oil.  You will also get an insider’s guide to the global market and the economics of the global olive oil trade.

You will also be surprised to discover the connections between this town and our next destination, the seaside town of Peñíscola with its breathtaking views of the Mediterranean and its historic castle.  Wander the streets of the beautiful old town and enjoy a lovely set menu lunch on your own while looking out over the Mediterranean sea. We will visit the castle as a group and have an opportunity to take a group picture on the castle ramparts overlooking the wonderful coastline.  On return to Valencia, you will have the option to enjoy dinner in a local restaurant that sources their olive oil from the press we visited during the trip.
